We started our afternoon adventure in Muizenberg and then made a quick stop at Boulder’s Beach to check out the penguins. Our main destination was the Cape Peninsula, but we decided to make a worthwhile stop in Simon’s Town along the way. If you’re already visiting the penguins, you’re practically in Simon’s Town, so it makes sense to explore a bit and maybe grab some lunch.
We chose a spot right on the harbor, perfect for watching water sports enthusiasts and shark cage divers prepare for their adventures. The food was a mix of hits and misses. The prawns were okay, the melted Camembert was delicious, the salad was even better, and the fish cakes were piping hot. The seafood platter was fantastic, but given the mixed quality of the dishes, we opted to skip dessert and continue our journey.
Before leaving, be sure to take in the stunning views of Simon’s Town from the mountain roads. It’s definitely worth it as you head toward the Cape Peninsula!
