Essential Insights on Booking a Celebrity Edge Cruise

The Celebrity Edge is one of the newer ships from Celebrity Cruises, and I was thrilled to check it out after an amazing experience cruising with them in Alaska. If you’re thinking about booking a trip on the Celebrity Edge, there are some things you’ll want to know, as this ship is quite different from others. Being the newest ship, it brings a fresh experience to cruising.

The staterooms on the Celebrity Edge are particularly impressive, offering 25% more indoor space thanks to their unique retractable windows and balconies. They’re modern and open, and the dining options onboard are destinations in themselves. Not to mention, there’s this unique feature called the Magic Carpet, which literally hangs off the side of the ship!

Let me offer you a closer look at the ship and share some tips on the best staterooms, restaurants, bars, and entertainment you should try.

First off, accommodations are key when cruising. The Celebrity Edge has six types of staterooms and suites to choose from, so you’re sure to find one to suit your preferences.

Suite Class is the ultimate in luxury on the Celebrity Edge. These suites, located on higher decks, are a lavish place to call your temporary home. Each one has unique floor-to-ceiling windows, its own plunge pool, sundeck, and even a personal butler. Some suites offer in-room dining, too. Within this category, you can pick from various options like the Penthouse, Royal, Celebrity, and Sky Suites—all of which are stunning in their own way.

Aqua Class staterooms on the Celebrity Edge come with a special infinite balcony, a standout feature that allows the balcony glass to close fully, creating more space inside. Plus, these staterooms grant unlimited access to the SEA thermal suite in the spa, making it tempting to visit daily.

Concierge Class staterooms are similar to Balcony staterooms but are generally located on higher floors and include additional perks in their package.

Balcony staterooms boast infinite balconies and are decorated in bright, airy pastels, making the rooms feel more spacious than on other ships.

Oceanview staterooms provide a similar layout and style to the Balcony staterooms but without the balcony. If you don’t mind not having an outdoor space, these are a great choice.

Interior staterooms share the same design as others, though without windows or balconies, which often makes them more budget-friendly. These are perfect if you’re not too concerned with having a view from your room.

Dining on the Celebrity Edge is a real treat, with over 40 different places to eat. Some highlights include Eden, a spot where nature-inspired dishes are served alongside live performances, making for an unforgettable dining experience. Sushi on 5 offers a wide array of fresh sushi, including the unique freshly grated wasabi. Another standout is Le Petit Chef, where your meal is accompanied by charming animations right on your table.

The ship is also full of bars, including Café al Bacio for sweet treats and coffee, the performance-infused Eden bar, and The Martini Bar featuring expertly crafted martinis. Each evening, you can try a new spot for a drink.

For relaxation, the spa on board is top-notch, featuring crystals, saunas, steam rooms, and a variety of wellness options. There’s the added perk of hot yoga classes and a large gym, though I have to admit I didn’t make it to the gym!

The Resort Deck is a fantastic place to unwind, with amazing views, pools, hot tubs, and a rooftop garden. It’s not just sunbeds and chairs, but private cabanas and relaxing spots as well.

Shopping on the Celebrity Edge offers a range of exclusive designer collections, like Marc Jacobs and Jo Malone, so you’ll have plenty of choices if luxury shopping is your thing.

Entertainment options onboard are plentiful. The ship’s theatre features impressive shows with interactive displays like Kaleidoscope. Eden doubles as an entertainment venue with performers all around. There’s also a cinema, live music, and family-friendly fun on the resort deck, plus a club for those who want to dance the night away.

Finally, the Magic Carpet is a one-of-a-kind floating platform that travels up and down the side of the ship, offering a unique venue for dining and events. It’s best experienced at sunset for stunning ocean views.

Overall, the Celebrity Edge cruise ship offers an exciting and luxurious journey, with plenty to do, see, and taste during your voyage.
