A Bird’s-Eye Perspective of Angsana Velavaru Maldives

A Bird's-Eye Perspective of Angsana Velavaru Maldives

After snorkeling around the house reef in the morning, we spent the rest of the afternoon soaking up the sun and enjoying the pool. I was surprised by how spacious the pools at the Angsana Velavaru ocean villas were, and holding a drink in hand made it the perfect way to enjoy the Maldivian sunshine.

Soon it was time to head back to the mainland for our massages. We decided to go early so we could explore a bit more, something we hadn’t done since we got there.

The spa is like a tropical escape and feels separate from the mainland—a nice touch for a relaxing massage. The massages here are incredible! Even on our first visit to Angsana Ihuru, I was impressed by how amazing they were, and it’s nice to see they’ve kept the quality consistent across both islands. There’s also a third island, Banyan Tree, and although I’ve never tried the massages there, I’d be totally willing to check it out for you—for research, of course! 😉

After 90 minutes of massages, I was completely relaxed and even fell asleep for the last 10 minutes, which is a record for me—I usually doze off halfway through! As it started raining again, we jumped on the boat back to the ocean villa and opened a bottle of wine to enjoy the sunset from the villa’s comfort. It’s impressive how the Maldives still manages great sunsets even when it’s raining.

Dinner arrived soon after. Starting with scallops, I chose baked fish for the main course. I wanted to explore different items on the menu to see if the restaurant was as good as I originally thought—and it definitely was!

Lloyd opted for a Caesar salad, which was quite a large starter, followed by a mixed seafood platter. For dessert, we both chose cheesecake, which had quickly become a favorite.

The next morning, we woke up bright and early to catch the sunrise. We had to say goodbye to Angsana Velavaru and its amazing views, but not before enjoying one last breakfast.

Despite trying to stretch breakfast as long as we could, the sound of the seaplane arriving in the distance and the boat waiting for us signaled the end of our stay on this incredible island. What a fantastic start to our holiday in the Maldives!
