A Rustic Retreat in Rome

A Rustic Retreat in Rome

We arrived in Rome under the cover of night, so the beauty surrounding us the next morning was a delightful surprise. The stunning Roman hills looked amazing against the bright blue sky, giving us the perfect motivation to start the day and making us eager for breakfast.

Our stay at the Agriturismo villa was quite enjoyable too. We were joined by our friends, Giorgia and Lorenzo, fellow adventurers we had met in Milan and then again in Cinque Terre. It was nice to see familiar faces, and they had even arrived early the night before, just in time for some evening wine.

We decided to stick together for the next part of our journey to see where the roads would lead us. However, we didn’t get far at first, as we spent about an hour exploring the villa’s vineyards and competing to capture the best Instagram-worthy photos. Amidst the fun, we briefly lost Lloyd in the vineyard, but ultimately, the group photos were the clear winners. Our little photo session ended when the farm dog chased us off for being too loud.

After refueling, we hit the open roads of Italy, only stopping when we stumbled upon a breathtaking lake. This was one of those experiences that you might miss in a car, but traveling by rickshaw lets you fully enjoy the journey and all its unexpected finds.

Soon enough, our hunger led us in search of lunch, with Giorgia and Lorenzo guiding the way. Our meal turned out to be fantastic and in the most unexpected location, but more on that in another post!
