Embark on an Adventure to a World-Class Beach Paradise!

Embark on an Adventure to a World-Class Beach Paradise!

We’ve previously discussed the islands you should consider visiting, so you might already be familiar with the topic. However, one thing that wasn’t mentioned is that one of these islands, Maya Bay on the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, has one of the most secluded and stunning beaches you’ll ever come across. If you’ve seen photos on the blog, this post will give you the complete picture of this amazing spot.

To get there from the UK, we first took several flights, then a taxi, and a boat from Phuket to Phi Phi. After that, we boarded a speedboat to another island and swam through a rock opening using ropes, where many of us ended up with grazed knees. Finally, we walked through some vegetation, which I jokingly referred to as a “huge forest,” before setting foot on the beach. The moment you arrive, you’ll know it was worth the effort.

Here are a few tips:

1. Bring your own food and drinks, as there’s nowhere to purchase anything on the beach. We were lucky to have a private speedboat that included plenty of food and beverages. It’s very hot there, so at least carry some water.

2. Use waterproof containers or sacks for your cameras, phones, and anything else you don’t want to get wet as you swim. Our package included these, but they’re available for purchase on the mainland if needed.

3. Be cautious about picking up things in the water. My friend Georgia picked up a small crab and got pinched! I was also sifting sand through my fingers, which is some of the finest I’ve ever seen, but luckily avoided any crab encounters.

4. Remember to change into your swimwear before hopping into the water. I was so eager to jump in when we arrived that I forgot and swam in my clothes. Meanwhile, Georgia and Lloyd were smarter and stayed dry all day in their swimwear.

With these tips in mind, get ready to enjoy your visit and take lots of photos! When we arrived at Loh Samah Bay, we had to use the ropes to navigate through the rock to reach Maya Bay, where we finally set foot on the island. (Check out my grazed leg as proof of the adventure!)
