A Daytime Adventure at Luna Park, Sydney, Australia

The entrance to Luna Park in Sydney is both spooky and exciting at the same time! The park has a charming retro vibe since it first opened in 1935, and its vintage attractions are part of what makes it so appealing. The atmosphere is lively and full of nostalgia, offering a fantastic walk down memory lane.

The park’s entrance is designed to resemble a smiling face, though it might be a kind of smile you wouldn’t typically encounter. Luna Park is located on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour, directly across the bridge from the Opera House. At night, if you’re at the Opera House, you’ll see the park’s lights sparkling in the distance—one of the reasons we decided to check it out ourselves!

You can reach Luna Park easily by taking a ferry from the terminal on the same side as the Opera House, catching a taxi (which is a pricier choice and the one we used on our way there), or walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge (our choice on the way back).

While entry to the park is free, you’ll need to pay for rides, snacks, and souvenirs. Be sure to look at their website for a full list of what’s on offer. Don’t forget to take a ride on the Ferris Wheel and grab some candy floss while you’re there!
